Oatlands Invitational Cross Country Meet

LEESBURG — Millbrook senior Alec Schrank finished third overall at the 56-team Oatlands Invitational cross country meet on Saturday.

Schrank finished with a time of 15 minutes, 55 seconds. Richard Montgomery High School’s Rohann Asfew won the race in 15:47, and Loudoun Valley’s Peter Morris (15:50) was the runner-up.

Morris paced Loudoun Valley to the team title with 88 points. Albemarle (226), Freedom (237), South Lakes (277) and Thomas Jefferson S&T (299) completed the top five.

Schrank paced Millbrook to 25th (617). Kevin Kleinegger (132nd, 18:10), Brad Hambrick (143rd, 18:15), John Pullen (167th, 18:29) and Daniel Croyle (196th, 18:39) completed the Pioneers’ scoring five.

James Wood’s Max Lindquist finished 44th (17:16) to lead the Colonels. Kevin Konyar (120th, 18:02), Joshua Arce (164th, 18:28), Jacksen Costa (266th, 19:07) and Nathan Shade (277th, 19:11) rounded out Wood’s team scoring.

In the girls’ race, George C. Marshall won with 99 points. Osbourn Park (129), Walter Johnson (186), Albemarle (199) and Brentsville (234) followed in the top five.

Millbrook placed 15th out of 47 teams with 504 points. Mellany Groll (77th, 21:14) led the way for the Pioneers. Emily Muldowney (88th, 21:24), Maddie Lloyd (93rd, 21:29), Kaycee Cox-Philyaw (132nd, 22:01) and Joanne Keenan (143rd, 22:07) completed Millbrook’s team scoring.

James Wood, led by Mackenzie Konyar (53rd, 20:51), came in 22nd with 639 points. Autumn Hottle (100th, 21:34), Maria Harter (136th, 22:02), Claire Bright (166th, 22:24) and Jessie Clatterbuck (219th, 23:13) rounded out Wood’s top five.

George C. Marshall’s Heather Holt took first overall in 17:52.
