All-Area Volleyball First Team

Savanna Pearson

MIllbrook — Senior Outside hitter

In her first season at outside hitter, Pearson showed her versatility as an all-around player with 231 kills, 172 digs, 135 service points, including 23 aces, and 16 blocks. She was a unanimous first team All-Conference 21 West selection as the Conference Player of the Year, a first team All-4A West Region selection and a second team Group 4A all-state selection. Pearson is also The Winchester Star’s Volleyball Player of the Year.

 

Megan Hillyard

James Wood — Senior Setter

Hillyard kept the Colonels’ offense flowing with her leadership and overall ability. She led the area with 728 assists and also had 38 aces, 32 kills and 14 blocks. Hillyard, who helped lead the Colonels to the Conference 21 West tournament title, was a unanimous first team All-Conference 21 West selection, a first team All-4A West Region selection and a second team Group 4A all-state selection.

 

Maggie Wise

Handley — JuniorOutside hitter

One of three unanimous first team All-Conference 21 West selections, Wise provided both offense, defense and leadership for Handley. She led the Judges w ith 282 kills and 229 digs. She also had 221/2 blocks and 13 aces.

Taylor Heishman

James Wood — Senior Middle hitter

Earning first team All-Conference 21 West and second team All-4A West Region honors, Heishman proved to be a force in the middle of the Colonels’ front line. She led Wood with 216 kills and 61 blocks. Heishman also had 27 digs, helping the Colonels win the conference tournament title.

 

Abigail Koeller

Millbrook — Sophomore Outside hitter

One of just two Millbrook players who played in every rotation for the Pioneers, Koeller led Millbrook with 237 kills. She ranked second for the Pioneers with 53 aces and third with 169 digs. Koeller earned first team All-Conference 21 West and second team All-4A West Region honors.

 

Javonna Lansdown 

Clarke County — Senior Outside hitter

An all-around standout for Clarke, Lansdown provided both offense, defense and leadership for the Eagles. She had an area-best 378 kills. Lansdown also led the Eagles with 54 aces and ranked second with 100 digs. Lansdown earned first team All-Bull Run District, All-Conference 35 and All-2A East Region and second team Group 2A all-state honors.

 

Mya Mintschenko

Handley — Senior Setter

An all-around standout for the Judges who earned first team All-Conference 21 West honors, Mintschenko led Handley with 588 assists. She also ranked third for the Judges with 93 kills and fifth for Handley with 122 digs. Mintschenko will play volleyball for Davis & Elkins next fall.
