FRONT ROYAL — Hunter Leight scattered three hits over five innings and Brock Lockhart’s key double drove James Wood’s baseball team to a 10-1 season-opening win over Warren County at Bing Crosby Stadium.

The Colonels led 4-0 with one out in the top of the fourth when Lockhart (2-for-4) cleared the bases with a double.

Danny Cooper also drove in two runs for Wood, and Tim Spore scored three times.

Connor Hutzell doubled and scored on a Ryan Tierney RBI for the Wildcats’ lone run. Kit Schindler took the defeat.
