James Wood baseball's Baker, George sign with Garrett

WINCHESTER — James Wood baseball outfielders and recent graduates Brett Baker and Tanner George each signed to play for Garrett College in a ceremony on Friday at James Wood.

Garrett is a National Junior College Athletic Association school located in McHenry, Md. The Lakers, who compete in Region XX, went 23-29-1 overall and 8-16 in league play this year.

Baker was a first team Class 4 All-Northwestern District and second team All-Region 4C selection this year. He led the Colonels in batting average (.358, 24 of 67), RBIs (14), runs (15), doubles (seven), on-base percentage (.434) and slugging percentage (.493).

George had nine RBIs, eight runs and a .356 OBP.

The duo helped James Wood go 9-12 overall and 6-6 in the district.
