GIRLS’ SOCCER - 4A West Region

Handley freshman forward Emma Ricci and senior midfielder Kara Johnson were both named to the 4A West Region second team in selections that were announced on Thursday.

In addition to Ricci — the Conference 21 West Player of the Year — and Johnson, Handley senior defender Natalie DeArment was an honorable mention selection.

James Wood had three people named honorable mention — sophomore forward Katie Padgett, freshman midfielder Kaylah Gankiewiecz and senior defender Neary Casebolt.

Loudoun County senior forward Allyson Brown is the Player of the Year, and Jefferson Forest’s Matt Newton is the Coach of the Year.
