All-Area Girls Tennis Team

Meredith Watts — Handley — Sophomore
Watts recorded a 16-5 record at No. 1 singles for the Judges. She captured the Conference 21 West title and advanced to the 4A West quarterfinals. She teamed with Lillian Smith to advance to the Conference 21 West finals in doubles.

Abigale Lukens — Sherando — Senior
Lukens recorded an 8-9 mark at No. 1 singles for the Warriors, including a pair of wins over Handley’s Meredith Watts. She advanced to the Conference 21 West semifinals in singles. She teamed with Abigail Sears to go 14-5 and capture the Conference 21 West title in doubles.

Annie Cebrzynski — Millbrook — Senior
Cebrzynski had 12-6 record at No. 1 singles for the Pioneers and earned a regional berth by advancing to the Conference 21 West finals. She teamed with Kyle Buza to go 12-5 at No. 1 doubles. The pair advanced to the Conference 21 West semifinals.

Alexa Venturato — Sherando — Freshman
Venturato played herself into the No. 2 singles spot for the Warriors and had an 11-6 record. She also joined Alisa van de Crommert to form a formidable team at No. 2 doubles.

Kyle Buza — Millbrook — Junior
Buza had a 10-5 record at No. 2 singles for the Pioneers. She teamed with Annie Cebrzynski to go 12-5 at No. 1 doubles. The pair advanced to the Conference 21 West semifinals.

Abigail Sears — Sherando — Junior
Sears recorded an 18-1 record at No. 3 singles for the Warriors with her lone loss coming in the state semifinals against eventual 4A champion Midlothian. She teamed with Abigale Lukens to go 14-5 and capture the Conference 21 West crown in doubles.

Sarah-Beth Blaney — Sherando — Sophomore
Blaney moved up a spot in the Warriors’ singles lineup and had an outstanding season. She went 18-1 at No. 4 singles with her lone loss coming in the state semifinals against eventual 4A champion Midlothian.

Megan Hillyard — James Wood — Junior
Hillyard went toe-to-toe with some of the area’s best at No. 1 singles for the Colonels. She advanced to the Conference 21 West quarterfinals.
