Track & field: Handley tops boys' field

WINCHESTER — Handley captured the boys' team meet and the Judges placed second in the girls' competition during a Northwestern District meet at Millbrook on Wednesday.

In the boys' meet, Handley totaled 99 points. Warren County (59), Liberty (42), Manassas Park (38), Kettle Run (38), James Wood (14) and Millbrook (13) followed.

Warren County captured the girls' meet with 75 points. Handley (58), James Wood (54), Liberty (42), Manassas Park (36). Millbrook (15) and Kettle Run (8) followed.

Handley boys' leaders: Breylon Miller (1st, high jump, 5-10); Christian Metzger (1st, long jump, 19-1.5); Isaiah Baxter (1st, triple jump, 40-4 and 2nd, long jump, 18-11); Jaishaun Offutt (1st, shot put, 49-10 and 2nd, discus, 122-6); Rylan Stribling (1st, 400, 52.60); Timmy Campbell (2nd, triple jump, 37-8.5); Brendan Campbell (2nd, 100, 11.97).

Millbrook boys' leaders: Justice Blowe (2nd, 110 hurdles, 18.32 and 2nd, 300 hurdles; 45.00).

Handley girls' leaders: Elizabeth Pitcock (1st, high jump, 4-8 and 2nd, 200, 28.87); Amaya Smith (1st, triple jump, 33-2.5); Mason Rinker (1st, discus, 82-9); E-Zani Venable (1st, 200, 28.80); 4x800 relay (1st, 12:18.10); 4x100 relay (1st, 53.04).

James Wood girls' leaders: Ana Ramos (1st, 100, 14.27); 4x400 (1st, 4:55.97); Sarah Moss (2nd, 1,600, 5:51.32); Kallie Gyurisin (2nd, 400, 1:07.71); Claire Snell (2nd, 800, 2:41.30);

Millbrook leaders: Essence O'Banion (2nd, discus, 81-7).
