WRESTLING - Conference 21 Duals

PURCELLVILLE — Sherando finished unbeaten and had four wrestlers go 7-0 at the two-day Conference 21 Duals at Woodgrove High School on Saturday.

The Warriors defeated James Wood (46-22), Dominion (63-9), Woodgrove (52-24) and Park View (84-0) on Saturday after going 3-0 on Friday night with wins over Loudoun County (63-15), Millbrook (46-27) and Heritage (75-0).

Sherando’s Jacob Guthridge (132 pounds, six pins), Jordan Dalton (145, three pins and a tech fall), P.K. Jessen (170, five pins) and Tyler Hamilton (220, three pins, tech fall and a major decision) all went unbeaten to earn top seeds for Saturday’s Conference 21 Tournament at Sherando High School.

Mike Duffy (106, two pins), Curtis Guthridge (113, four pins), John Borst (152, four pins) all earned No. 2 seeds for the Warriors. Duffy went 6-0, and Curtis Guthridge and Borst both finished 6-1.

Sherando’s Andrew Hamilton (126), Colten Simmons (138), Killian McPartland (182) and Ben Avery (285) all went 5-2 to earn No. 3 seeds for the tournament.

The Warriors will have 11 of their 14 wrestlers seeded in the top three at the conference tournament on Saturday.
