2010 All-Area Wrestling Team

The following James Wood High School wrestlers were named to the Winchester Star All-Area Wrestling Team. Selections are made by The Winchester Star sports staff, based on performances and results throughout the season.

Taylor Swartz
Freshman - 103 lbs.

Swartz (39-14), the younger brother of Gage Swartz, placed seventh in Group AA and second in both Region II and the Northwestern District. He had 17 pins and was second at the Willie Walters tournament.

Gage Swartz
Senior — 119 lbs.

Swartz (47-6), who saw his 2009 season end at the Region II tournament with a broken elbow, won the Group AA, Region II and Northwestern District tournaments. He had 20 pins and finished 196-30 for his career.

Seth Fauver
Senior — 171 lbs.

Fauver (36-17) placed sixth in Group AA, third in Region II, and second in the Northwestern District. He had 18 pins. Fauver placed second at the Willie Walters tournament and fifth at Berkeley Springs’ Max Horz tournament.

Austin Woodall
Senior — 285 lbs.

Woodall (49-6) won the Group AA title by pinning each opponent, won the Northwestern District title, and was second in Region II. He led the area with 39 pins. Woodall won the Willie Walters tournament. His career mark was 155-46.
