ORANGE- Millbrook placed six wrestlers in the semifinals, but the Pioneers are in second behind defending champion Fauquier after the first day of the Region II tournament Friday at Orange County High School.

The Falcons have 119 points, 39 more than Millbrook (80). James Wood is fifth (50 points, four semifinalists), Sherando is sixth (47, three) and Handley is 16th (16, one) in the 26-team field.

Millbrook's semifinalists are Luke Anderson (119 pounds), Jake Crawford (140), Brandon Seal (145), John Sharp (152), Joe Jessen (189) and DeAndre Johnson (215).

James Wood's are Taylor Swartz (103), Cody Landis (125), Cory Schrock (171) and Mark Bean (215).

Sherando's are Brandon Fletcher (125), Aaron Laboy (140) and Zach Fletcher (152).

Tom Delaney (145) will represent Handley in the semifinals.

Landis and Fletcher at 125 pounds is the only semifinal involving two local wrestlers.

Today's action will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude with finals at 5:30 p.m.
