SOFTBALL - Colonels 11, Eagles 3

BERRYVILLE — Alyssa Brown went 2 for 5 with grand slam and Lauren King struck out eight to lead James Wood to a non-district softball victory over Clarke County at Grubbs Field on Thursday night.

Lindsay Anderson, Lani Spielman and Sidney Furr all went 2 for 4 for the Colonels (8-4), who took control with an eight-run first inning.

Allie Hicks went 3 for 3, Jamie Hoggatt went 2 for 3 and Haley Haun added a two-run home run for the Eagles (5-7). Megan Hicks struck out three in the loss for Clarke.
