Local teams wait for seedings to shake out

Winchester — As high school football teams across the state jockey for postseason position in this final week of the regular season, local squads won’t have too much say in how the seedings shake out.

Making their second straight playoff appearance, the Colonels will likely visit Potomac Falls (8-1) a week from Friday.

It’s possible that Potomac Falls could leap over top-seed Broad Run (9-0), if the Spartans lose to Park View (3-6) Friday and the Panthers beat Dominion (1-8). But James Wood coach Mike Bolin said he wasn’t sure if even that would be enough to change the top two spots.

“I’d hate to be the person who has to figure that out,” Bolin said. “They must have a magic spreadsheet or something.”
